Didn't get job. Need new job NOW :/...
Anybody know anybody awesome in Augusta I can meet? I might be moving.
Anybody on my friends list in the Athens area that wants to, or know somebody who wants to play an RPG I'm GMing? This is my first time GMing btw, and I realllly don't like power gamers :P.
Anyway, the plot isn't all figured out yet, but the campaign is a low point super hero campaign set in the modern world. Basically, everybody chooses a type of person to play (i.e. taxi cab driver, air traffic controller, doctor) and then their life is flipped upside down when they find out they have powers (think Heroes). The thing is, the player doesn't get to choose his own powers, he rolls them (mostly) but doesn't find out what they are until in game. It takes place in a fictional city called Arion city, which is in South Jersey, and is basically the size of NYC, DC, and Philidelphia (and is located somewhat in between all of them).
Anyway, I might be looking for one more player. I don't want too big of a group my first GM, but right now we have 3 and 4 would be a good number. We're meeting every other Monday starting this Monday. Should be fun.

Anybody have any luck with any web hosts they reccommend?
also, btw, I don't have cancer. yay.

So... I have a question.
If somebody got something really bad and life-threatening (like cancer), but didn't have health care... what would their options be?

Devirginizing a friend, meeting one of the most awesome fairies, and realizing that feeling you felt was "peacefulness" for the first time in who knows how long: priceless.
----------
Got back from Preheat last night at 9, left yesterday at 11-ish. I'm not going to do my normal, next minute I did that, and then this happened, and then 5 minutes later that happened post.
Here are a few of my favorite memories (in no order):
-"Ben, Stick it in... again and again and again and again."
-Peacocks meow, like really loud cats.
-Playing frisbee.
-Staying up till 4 something on the 20th...
-Just enjoying the day Sunday, and realizing that the feeling I was feeling was peacefulness... and who knows how long until I've actually felt peaceful!
-Meeting Rana... she is a totally awesome fairie.
-Seeing Rana glow after her first time doing fire poi, and being her safety.
-Bringing my good friend Chris, after spending a year and a half or so talking about Burns. Chris getting to experience the community, art, and beauty of the PPL at Preheat.
- Realizing that my name is officially Spike, after trying to change it to Lumens, and still having 2 or 3 people introduce me to other people as Spike.
-Playing electronic drum thing at Wes' Van.
- Lemon Jelly Videos. Frontier Psychatrist. Bannana Phone but to a heavy metal band (immortal?). other trippy videos at the Wongo Video Lounge
- Passing out at the Wongo Video Lounge while watching Wallace and Grommit.
- Madascar 2 at Hookah Lounge.
- Some old guy giving my camp Naturist Magazines.
- Trying Kava.
- Giving people my CDs - playlist @ http://lumen101.blogspot.com/
- Spending all early saturday morning on the couches of the blazing coffee bean with Rana, meeting other ppl, and drinking Hot Chocolate.
- The O.B.E Dome... Gorilla playing drums, spinning thing, throwing discs on the head of a person on spinning thing, DJ playing Fine night tonight (one of my favs)
- Walking the labyrinth and getting ideas for an art installation on the Playa...
- Random Turkey and Peacock's walking around people's camps.
- Chris jumping in the pool (which at the time we didn't think we were allowed to)
- All the wonderful people who make burns so great.
- I'm sure I'm missing some things...
- Getting better at flowersticks, and teaching Chris some juggling methods.
In Conclusion...
The burn was most awesome. The drive wasn't a great drive, but it was mostly scenic, and not that bad. I have a hard time comparing one burn to another burn, but this burn was great; like almost all the other ones have been so far. Enjoyed hanging out with the people I got to see and meet. Chris enjoyed himself as well, which was important as he's not really an artsy type and this was his first burn. Rana and I got along very well in person, and she is a really cool Glowbug. We've been talking online for about 8 months, and friday night was the first time I actually met her in person. She was at the gate when I got there, and she approached me first. Her face was opposite of a bright light, so it was covered in shadow at first, and I was like.. is that... Yay it is Rana! hehe.
Great burn, woot! Only 4 more months until Burning Man! BIGGER WOOT!

Hi, I'm new here.
You can delete this if this is not an appropriate question here...
I've seen some really cool black light art, and most of what I've seen appears to be on black canvas. Searching the internet I can't find any black canvas.
Do you guys have any idea what surface they might have used? It's def a heavy black fabric of some sort, and looks like canvas, but it was also def. not painted black.
Thanks!

So, which of my friends have twitter on livejournal?
So after reading and talking a lot about gardening (mainly permaculture) to my friends... I decided I should start now. These aren't really going to be permaculture gardens (obviously since they're raised beds) but I'm going to working on learning more as I go.
My first step is to make the raised garden beds. One is complete. We had a lot of wood in our backyard from previous projects (mainly building the fence) and so I used all those small pieces. I built it all by myself and I think it'll look pretty good actually. Almost looks like a wooden floor or something.

I also have another one in the back of my backyard...

Tomorrow I'm getting dirt/soil/what not. Oh, I also started a compost bin (2 actually, one's going to be vermicomposting). My dad got his truck fixed so now I can haul stuff. Tomorrow I'm also going to start seeding finally.
I'm going to go take a long bath now.

Does anybody know anybody who is planning on going to BM early to work with the DPW... like August 17th, or earlier? Somewhere from the southeast? Preferably Georgia.
I'd really like to go help out with DPW, but I'm not sure if I can get a ride there/back if I go early. I also doubt my car will get me there and back...

Yay, things are sucking all around. I hope my friends start doing better...
I haven't been doing well either. Blah.

So I've been kind of obsessed with the McDonalds monopoly game. I'm only a few peices away from winning like... all the things you can possibly win. So.. if i may ask...
If anybody has any extra pieces, or if you get some, will you give me the codes?!? I'll throw a party, and give you part of the cut!

Question: Burning Man Money & Tao
So, I very very much want to go burning man '09. Which means, and this post is a question post.
The problem is I'm barely cutting it with the job I have. I have 150 to go so far, and will add 50 to it every month, and probably 100 every other month or so... meaning by next August I should have about $750 to get there, and on food and stuff. I'd like to have more money to spend on costuming and art, and shelter (I'd really like to make a hexayurt or a dome, or some other type of building as I am an interior designer and all... But I just had 250 and I spent a lot on my new fire poi/safety stuff.
So my questions are:
1. How would you reccomend me getting more money when I already work and go to school full-time? Are there any online things, or just random ideas you might have? Are there events that are good to sell at (say, if I wanted to do like a bake sale or something). I mean any little bit helps :)(Also, Ebay is sort of out of the question as I've already sold most of everything I want to get rid of recently)
2. (Especially for Lo, Rebecca & Troy) How do you guys usually get to BM? Drive, plane, train? If the last two then how do you get your stuff over there?
3. How much does it normally cost you to go each year?
4. Anybody nearby going to be working on an art project for next year? Because I would really like to help.
